BC Summer Games 2026 – Zone 1

Ever wanted to attend the Olympics as a young child? Well here is your chance to attend a smaller version of that, the BC Summer Games!

Every 2 years, British Columbia has thousands of athletes, officials, coaches, and volunteers from across our beautiful province from multiple sports convene in a city to compete over 3 days. For 2026, the BC Summer Games are being hosted by the City of Kelowna, in the stunning hills of the Okanagan Valley from July 22nd-26th. This is the page where you can find all the quick links and information on how to qualify for the Zone 1 team, where to go, and what to expect.

This year, Our Zone 1 reps are Erin Sheppard and Angela Jack. Our Assistant Coach is Dennis Scott, and our Head Coach is TBD. Zone 1 color is Yellow.

To qualify for the BC Summer Games 2026 for Athletic team Zone 1, you must:

  1. Complete the 2026 BC Summer Games Athlete Declaration by June 7, 2026. Make sure you have electronic proof of your results to submit with your form.
  2. Compete all steps as set out by the Athlete Selection Criteria
  3. Only be attending the 2026 BC Summer Games in the sport of Athletics.
  4. Athletes selected to a BC Games Zone Athletics Team must hold a 2026 Annual Athlete U16 Membership or a Limited Athlete BC Summer Games Membership.

100m, 200m, 300m, 800m, 1200m, 2000m, 1500m Race Walk, 1500m Steeplechase*, Hurdles (girls 80m, boys 100m)*, 300m Hurdles*, 4x100m Relay, 4x400m Relay, 4x400m Mixed Zone/Gender Relay, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Discus (1kg), Javelin (girls 500g, boys 600g), Shot Put (girls 3kg, boys 4kg), Hammer (girls 3kg, boys 4kg), and Pentathlon
